The Union County College Foundation is committed to ensuring the
privacy, security, and confidentiality of the supporters who visit
this site and make donations online. Alumni and friends can
now make donations to the UCC Foundation online with the assurance
that the transaction is 100% secure. Furthermore, a receipt of your
transaction will be displayed directly following your donation and
also emailed to you for your records. No sensitive data will be
contained within the receipt email that is sent following an online
donation. To ensure that credit card information is secure
and that Internet gifts are processed safely and efficiently, we
have contracted with several additional security service providers.
When you submit one of our online donation forms your information
is encrypted (with the strongest industry standard available) and
transmitted securely via 128-bit Secure Socket Layer technology.
You can view our Security Certificate (provided by Verisign) to
verify that it is up to date and valid by clicking the lock icon
that shows up in the bottom of your web browser interface when you
are located on a secure page. Secure pages have addresses
that begin with https:// - you should always make sure that you
are on a page whose address begins with https:// before you submit
any sensitive data online.
Once submitted, the encrypted data from our forms is ferried to
a secure server location maintained by SoftwareSolutions.net.
You will notice after you click the submit button on one of our
forms that the address (URL) in your browser's location bar changes
to:
https://www.securedgateway.net/gateway2/cgi/sm_process.cgi
This is the location of the secure form processor that we use to
store your data until it is accessed and processed. We add
this extra level of security to foil the efforts of fraud practitioners
who can use online forms to test stolen credit cards. Upon
submission of any of our online donation forms, an email receipt
is generated and sent both to the donor and to the UCC Foundation.
This email contains no sensitive (credit card) data and thus is
not vulnerable to being compromised.
After we have promptly accessed your submitted data we manually
process your credit card information via Authorize.Net, one of the
Internet's foremost payment processing providers. Using Authorize
Net's transaction server your credit card info is verified, address-tested
and processed. Successful transactions (valid
cards which are associated with proper billing addresses) prompt
the electronic transfer of funds from your credit issuing bank to
the UCC Foundation bank account using a protected, proprietary connection.
In general, your funds will reach our bank within three business
days from the time they are processed. If we come across any
discrepancies while processing your transaction we will contact
you with any questions we may have. Otherwise, you will be
contacted by us with further information (including tax deductible
amounts) regarding the giving campaign you've donated to.
The UCC Foundation respects your absolute right to privacy as well
as your right to not be pestered by unsolicited communications.
We guarantee that any and all information you submit to us will
never be shared with any third party. The Union County College Foundation
will never sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share any of your information,
including your email address, with any other organization. All information
you give us online is strictly for the internal use of Foundation
staff in order to properly process your gift and acknowledge your
generosity.
By contractual agreement, The Union County College Foundation nor
our service partners will place "cookies' on a visitor's
computer.
