STUDENTS SAY THANK YOU!
Student scholarship recipients write letters of appreciation to their
benefactors in care of the Foundation. Students get a chance to say
"thank you" in person at the Scholarship Reception each
spring.
"I am writing this letter to thank you for giving
me this scholarship. You are supporting my dream to attain an education,
and I hope that one day I will be able to do the same for someone
else. Thank you again for your generosity."
"I am a single parent with two children and
I am 38 years old
I have dreamed of becoming a Registered Nurse
since I was twenty. I started eleven years ago, but I became ill and
couldn't return. Over the last few years I pondered the thought of
going back to school but I didn't have the means to do so."
"My doctor told me that due to my health issues
I would have to change my career so I enrolled at Union County College
in the fall of 2008 to pursue my Nursing career. I didn't know what
to expect since I had only received my GED. I was surprised when I
found out that my GPA was 4.0 and that I was awarded this scholarship.
I would like to thank you for helping me to get my dream back because
now I know that no matter what obstacles that I have encountered that
it won't stop my destiny."
"Becoming independent has not only caused financial
and academic challenges, but it has more importantly made me want
to strive harder for a college education to achieve my dream career
of becoming a law guardian. I am happy to have the opportunity to
write you this thank you letter and attend the reception. Without
scholarship donors
receiving a college education would be even
more difficult."
"I just want to thank you from the bottom of
heart. I am very thankful that I was given this scholarship because
it helped alleviate my financial burden. It is very tough to be a
single mother and holding a full time job to support my daughter.
I greatly appreciate the scholarship I received and I just wanted
to let you know that you are doing a great thing by awarding this
scholarship to needy students."
"I have dreamed of attending medical school
ever since I was young and now that I have been named as one of the
recipients for this scholarship program my dream is becoming a reality.
I am glad to have an opportunity to thank you personally for your
generosity. Without scholarship patrons like you, there would be many
students such as myself unable to pursue the career they've dreamed
of. My future plans include pursuing the career of a Registered Nurse.
I not only have a passion for nursing but also enjoy working with
people."
"I am a Biology major at
Union County College and am planning
to become a physical therapist. I want to first say that I am honored
to be acknowledged for all the studying that I do. As time progresses
the cost for school is becoming harder and harder and less people
are able to reward students for such great academic achievement. I
want to say that it means a lot to be noticed for working so hard,
because it is very tough, and I appreciate this scholarship with all
my heart. Receiving this scholarship means a lot to me because it
will allow me to keep working diligently because I know there is someone
out there that recognizes my dedication and hard work. Thank you for
acknowledging my success and I will do my part to continue and utilize
the gift I have just received, thank you."
"I would like to thank you for your support
through my academic achievements. I truly appreciate you taking the
time to reach out and help students like myself so that we can progress
in our education. Thank you for making it financially easier for me
to go to school and continue my education at a steady pace. This allows
me to focus on my academic courses throughout the semester without
dealing with a financial strain that may have caused difficulty in
maintaining my course credits."
"I am very thankful now after receiving this
award. I am one step closer to my goal. I am grateful for you kind
hearts to donate this Scholarship. Now that I have received this scholarship
it makes me happy because after I graduate from Union County College
I plan on attending Montclair State University to receive a bachelor
degree in Nutrition, and one day having my own clinic. Sometimes people
need a little boost from others to help them achieve their accomplishments
and that is a great feeling knowing there are people out there who
are willing to help. Your kindness is truly appreciated."
"I am honored to be the recipient of the Scholarship.
Thanks to your generous support I am the first in my family to attend
college. I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. The financial
assistance you provided was a great help to me in paying some of my
educational expenses, and it also allowed me to concentrate more on
my studies. Thank you again for your generosity and support. I promise
you I will work very hard to pursue my dream, and eventually give
back to others, both as teacher and possibly a scholarship to future
students."
"I would like to truly thank you for your generosity
in helping to pay for my education.
Money for my family has
been scarce. The fact that my four other siblings still live at home
and my parents still support them makes paying for college all the
more strenuous. I am the first of my entire family to go to college,
so my parents are extremely proud of me.
Thank you for the
chance to be able to better my life, now and in the future because
everything I attain from Union County College will stay with me for
the rest of my life."
